Frequently Asked Questions
Is this free?
Yes. No account, no paywall, no fees. Always free.
Where does the data come from?
All data comes from official federal campaign finance records — the authoritative source for candidate fundraising and spending disclosures.
Which election cycle is covered?
We primarily show 2024 cycle data. Some candidates may have limited data if they filed late or had minimal activity.
What is a PAC?
A Political Action Committee. PACs raise and spend money to elect or defeat candidates. The percentage of a candidate's funding from PACs is one indicator of donor composition.
What does 'burn rate' mean?
Burn rate is the percentage of money raised that has already been spent. A burn rate over 100% means the campaign is spending more than it raises.
What is cash on hand?
Cash on hand is the amount remaining in the campaign committee's account as of the most recent filing. It reflects fundraising minus spending to date.
What does 'employer breakdown' mean?
Campaigns are required to collect employer information from donors who give over a certain threshold. We show which employers' staff gave the most in aggregate — not individual donor names.
Why isn't a candidate showing up?
We search the 2024 election cycle. Some candidates, especially for lower-profile races or those who raised very little, may not appear or have limited data.
Do you store my searches?
No. We don't log, store, or share your search queries.
